Build confidence and learn how to self-promote in an authentic way

Do you find it easier to advocate for others than for yourself? Are you afraid that being assertive will make you less likeable? Do you often get overlooked despite being the most hardworking person in the room?

You are not alone. Cultural and gender modesty norms, as well as impostor syndrome or being part of an underrepresented group can pose barriers to self-promotion.

It’s time to take charge of your narrative and show your unique value, overcoming unconscious bias and limiting beliefs!

In addition, research shows that gender, race, age, ability, and other identity-based stereotypes can impact the perception about a person’s competence and ability. This leads to implicit biases we may not even be aware of. We must take action and become more intentional about creating a kinder world where each of us is welcome to show up as their authentic, remarkable self.

#IamRemarkable is a Google initiative empowering women and underrepresented groups to speak openly about their accomplishments in the workplace and beyond, thereby breaking modesty norms and glass ceilings. To date, the program has reached over 400.000 people across 170+ countries. Learn more at g.co/IamRemarkable.

In the 90-min #IamRemarkable workshop, you will learn how to develop the confidence and skills to promote yourself in an authentic effective way. The complimentary workshop is open to everyone and is divided into three parts:

  • Raise awareness through data & research about gender modesty norms, unconscious bias and barriers to self-advocacy.
  • Practice self-promotion through a powerful exercise, overcome preconceptions and learn how to articulate your achievements.
  • Consolidate your learning through a refreshing group discussion, take-home exercises and book recommendations.

The #IamRemarkable workshop is also a great opportunity for networking and building inclusive leadership. It creates a safe space that prompts us to self-reflect and learn how to better support our teams, acknowledging their success and sharing it with upper management.

“The most valuable is realizing that most of the times most people struggle with similar things, and it’s not just you.”

“Liliana is not only knowledgeable, but also very empathetic; she created a safe space in which we could share without fear of judgement, as well as offering her own insights.”
